直射日光からの防護だけでなく、側面に設けられた換気口のおかげで頭の蒸れも少なく、また適度な厚みがあるおかげで野山での作業中に頭を打ってもある程度保護が効き、そしてしっかりしたあごひもが付属するおかげで突風に遭っても吹き飛びません（眼鏡を使用しているので割と切実な問題です）。
総じて必要な性能を十分に備えた帽子だと思います。
